Angela Mary Springowski

Angela Mary Springowski died on July 21, 2013 at New Life Hospice following a brief illness. She was born in Lorain on August 14, 1918 to Michael and Jadwiga Maziarz but was raised in Zarzecze, Poland. She came back to Lorain in 1932. Angie enjoyed cooking, traveling and gardening and had an incredible passion for slot machines! She lived for taking care of others, especially her husband, son and grandchildren. If you asked her what she liked to do she would tell you "I like to work". If you were at her table and didn't take third helpings she'd ask you "What's the matter, no good"? And no one made better cookies than Grandma Springowski. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Springowski, her son, Thomas (Mary) Springowski, 4 grandchildren; Kathleen Newsome (Brendan Dolan), Mary-Christina Newsome, Meaghan Donovan and Paul Springowski as well as her "grandcat" Smokey and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters and a nephew. Services were handled by Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain and were private.
