Anna B. Savinsky (nee Olewinski), 94 of University Heights, formerly of Lorain, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born September 1, 1915 in DeCota, West Virginia and lived in Lorain most of her life. She graduated from Lorain High School and St. Joseph School of Practical Nursing. She worked as a Licensed Practice Nurse for 22 years at St. Joseph Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. Anna enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, cooking, shopping, going to and having garage sales. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Broer of Pepper Pike; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Adam in 1976, sons, Dr. Kenneth Savinsky in 1988 and Dr. Dennis Savinsky in 2007, parents, Francis and Felicia (nee Rachuba) Olewinski, brother, Stanley Olewinski and sisters, Christine Saegel, Sophie Dzikielewski and Geraldine Powers. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 9:00 am until closing prayers at 9:40 am at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. A 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial will be at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Gonzaga Society, Gesu Church, University Heights, Ohio 44118 or Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain.
