Anna Maria Susanna Suszko

Anna Maria Susanna "Susi" Suszko,87 of Defiance, formerly of Lorain, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance following a recent decline in health. She was born on June 18, 1920 in Fuerstenstein, Germany where she grew up and apprenticed for 2 years with Dr. Scholl's School in Munich. She married Myroslaw "Myron" Suszko on May 13, 1950 in Munich and moved to Lorain, Ohio in 1951. Both she and her husband were proud to become American citizens in 1968. She lived in Lorain from 1951 until moving to the Kingsbury House in Defiance in 2001. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lorain and attended St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Defiance. She is survived by her daughter, Daria (Paul) Sulpizio of Defiance; son, Dr. Ihor (Marilou) N. Suszko of Vermilion; grandchildren, Brian and Luke Sulpizio and Abby and Ian Suszko. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Myron Suszko and her parents, Engelbert and Margaretha (nee Weiss) Steindl. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
