Anne Anderson

Anne Anderson (nee Steed), 87, of Vermilion, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a 1 year illness. Anne was born August 26, 1925 in Somerville, MA and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 54 years. She was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion, where she was active in Marmaru, the secretary of the Women's Coordinating Committee, and Deaconate. She was also active in the food pantry, Meals on Wheels, and the former Homemakers Club. She enjoyed camping, sewing and traveling. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (John) Bard of Vermilion; 4 sons, Bruce (Cathy) Anderson of Huron, Neil (Sherry) Anderson of Vermilion, Glenn Anderson (companion, Heather Cole) of Summersville, WV and Ralph (Lisa) Anderson of Vermilion; 11 grandchildren, Dawn Anderson, Eric (Darlene) Anderson, Chris (Tricia) Bard; Greg (Carrie) Pennington, Jason (Cara) Bard, Ashley (Ben) White, Ryan Bard, Justin (Kim) Anderson, Katelynn (Mark) Bates, Nicholas Ball and Nicholas Anderson , 16 great grandchildren; Madison, Avery, Noah, Joshua, Sean, Braeden, Gavin, Ian, Trinity, Coen, Alex, Austin,Dawson, Henry, Brodie and Penelope; sister, Flora Mary Kaiser of Elgin, ILL, brother in law, James Anderson of Boynton Beach, FL; and special friends, Sarah Anderson and Wendy Hetrick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Lincoln Anderson 2004 and her parents, Ralph and Beatrice (nee Piper) Steed. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion . Funeral services will be Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Bob Richardson will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
