Annie Eloise Chadwick

March 19, 1915 — July 4, 2005

Annie Eloise Chadwick, 90 of Vermilion, died Monday, July 4, 2005 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain after a lenthy illness. She was born March 19, 1915 in Coshocton, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident since 1948 moving from East Liverpool. She graduated from Heidelberg College and the University of Illinois. She worked as a Librarian and Teacher for East Liverpool, Defiance, and East Palestine schools and taught in Vermilion for 25 years where she was Director of Libraries . She retired from the school system in 1972 after 35 years. She had been "The Librarian" at Vermilion Public Library from 1942-1944. After retiring from teaching she became the secretary at Christian Temple Disciples in Christ Church in Lorain. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Lorain, where she was involved with the St. David�s Guild and Episcopal Church Women organizations. She was a member of the ALA (American Library Association), OLA (Ohio Library Association), Ohio Reading Circle Board, Erie County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Society. She enjoyed studying about wildflowers and doing needlework. Survivors include her sister, Mary Rosalie Chadwick of Vermilion. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fletcher and Rosalie (nee Lowe) Chadwick. A memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 647 Reid Ave., Lorain at a time to be announced by the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
