Annie Lee Fullmer, 81, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Mercy New Life Hospice after a brief illness.
Born on July 9, 1943, in Columbia, South Carolina, Annie moved to Vermilion 19 years ago after living in Elyria most of her life.
Annie earned her master’s degree in Non-Profit Organization and worked for several companies, including Moen, before serving as the finance manager for the North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility.
A devoted member of both the First United Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and later the Community of Faith United Church of Christ in Elyria, Annie exemplified determination, strength, and tenacity throughout her life. She overcame many obstacles and used her experiences to uplift others. A passionate volunteer, she dedicated her time to organizations such as AMVETS Post #22, the Elyria Library, and the Special Olympics. Annie was an early advocate for parents of children with Down syndrome, providing invaluable support to many families.
Annie’s creativity and enthusiasm for life were evident in her hobbies. She loved collecting vintage jewelry, crafting with her family, and creating bead jewelry. A voracious reader, plant enthusiast, amateur winemaker, and talented baker, she enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends, often accompanied by her laughter and stories.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Akers of Fayetteville, NC; her grandchildren, Brittany Dickerhoff, Kyle Fullerton, Marilynn Akers, and Nathaniel Akers; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Dickerhoff, Lukas Fullerton, Nathaniel Dickerhoff, and Astrid Akers; her stepson, Glenn Fullmer of Ashland.
