Anthony Victor 'Tony' Brogoch

Anthony "Tony" Victor Brogoch, 95, of Vermilion, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his home after a brief illness. He was born March 12, 1925 in Cleveland and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 23 years, moving from Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Tony was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. Tony had worked for NASA before starting with the South Euclid Fire Department where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1979 as Assistant Chief. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. He was also a member of AMVETS Post #22, Fire Fighters Union, and the United Slovenia Society. Tony enjoyed bowling, whittling, handyman work, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Gary Brogoch of Vermilion; son in law, Frank Laudonia of Vermilion; grandchildren, Sara (Nick Sanzo) Laudonia, Megan (Jon) McCaskey, Carla (Dave Thurlow) Brogoch, and Laura (Ognyan Moore) Brogoch; great grandchildren, Millicent, Rose, Liam, Rowan, Max, Larry and Zoe; and step great grandchild, Ian. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Ann (nee Zadnik) Brogoch in 2010; parents, Anton and Mary (nee Benegar) Brogoch; daughters, Diane Laudonia in 2013 and Linda Bubis in 2007; daughter-in-law, Barbara Brogoch in 2018; half brothers, Joe, Jim, and Stan Brozick; and his sisters, Mary George, and Rose Svigel. Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion and a memorial service will be held at Riddle Funeral Home at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O. Box 758589, Topeka, KS 66675-858. Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
