Audra Faye Carpenter

Audra Faye Carpenter (nee Carr), 74, of Vermilion, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 1, 2018, at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. Audra was born May 7, 1944 in South Charleston, WV. She had been a Vermilion resident since 1972 moving from St. Albans, WV. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, teaching 8 to 10 year olds. She volunteered in the nursery, worked with youth and adult ladies, and sung in the church choir. She enjoyed music and singing, watching TV, and bowling. Above all else, she enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Aaron Carpenter and Gregory Scott (Amanda) Carpenter both of Vermilion; grandchildren, Arabella and Asa Michael Carpenter; Mary Drumheller of Griffin, GA, Margaret Boggs of Thomasville, NC, Betty (Russell) Tinsley of Thomasville, NC; brothers, Glenn Carr, Dunbar, WV, Joseph (Dorla) Carr of St. Albans, WV, Robert (Helen) Carr of Nitro, WV, Thomas (Abbie) Carr of Vermilion; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Carpenter in 2003; parents Charles Pell and Lottie Fay (nee Bowman) Carr; sisters, Anna Morris, Rebecca Boone, and Esther Roe; and brothers, Charles Carr, Jr. and Sam Carr. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the time of a funeral service at 6:00 pm at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Cliff Morris and Pastor Bill Rowe will co-officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hurricane, WV on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at 12 Noon.
