Audrey Brainard

Audrey M. Brainard (nee Mahla), 94, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Kingston of Vermilion after a brief illness.

She was born November 16, 1928 in Lorain, OH and has been a life long Lorain and Vermilion resident.

Audrey was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Amherst.  She was a homemaker until the time of her illness. She enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles, going out to eat at different restaurants, and shopping, especially for antiques.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Ron) McGlothlin of Vermilion and Debra (Joseph) Johnson of Greenville, SC; son, Mark (Sherry) Brainard of Lorain; grandchildren: Jeff, Dan, Audrey, Alice, Philip, Kevin, Christy, Connie, Tammy, Chrystal, April, and Christopher; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brainard in 1996; sons, Douglas and Peter Brainard; grandson, Keith, granddaughter, Karri and her parents, Fred and Marie (nee Waddell) Mahla; brother, Robert Mahla; and her sisters, Doris Linderman and Ann Marie Mahla.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
