Audrey W. Ward

Audrey W. Ward (nee Adkins), 82, of Oberlin, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born May 31, 1939 in Sandstone , WV and had been a Vermilion resident for 20 years before moving to Amherst and Oberlin. Audrey worked as a nursing assistant for Riverview Nursing Home, Golden Acres Nursing Home and Mill Manor for 33 years retiring in 2013. She had been an active member at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Amherst and First Baptist Church, Amherst. Audrey enjoyed reading, studying the bible, gardening, going to Cedar Point (especially riding the Blue Streak), and going to the fair to support her family who where showing animals. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Richard Ward, John (Martha) Ward of Oberlin, and Sheila (Edward) Kwiatkowski of Cuba, NY; grandchildren, Joshua Ward and Hollie Kwiatkowski; and her great-grandchildren, Franciszka Kwiatkowski and Ridge Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ward; parents, William and Florence (nee Drew) Adkins and 10 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 from 11:00 a.m until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
