Barbara Leora Foley, age 82, of Vermilion, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness on January 1st ,2024. Barbara was born on January 4th , 1941 in Lorain, Ohio and graduated from Lorain High School. After graduation she moved to New York City and taught dance. Barbara then moved to Lakeville, Minnesota, where she loved her log cabin on Lake Marion. She then moved to Vermilion in 1978 where she found her forever home with her husband Ronald Foley. She worked for the Vermilion Photojournal and received her license as a realtor and worked for Harbour Homes. Barbara enjoyed boating, fishing, reading a good mystery, movies, decorating and playing cards - especially Bridge. She was a member of the local Bridge Club and prided herself on her and her daughter Stacey’s periodic winning streaks! Barbara loved her pets and had an affinity for Siamese cats.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years Ronald Wendell Foley; daughters, Stacey Parham (Todd) of Amherst, Randell Burton of Florida and son, Jason Foley (Dawn) of Westlake; grandson, Jackson Bierfeldt of Boulder, CO and granddaughter, Samantha Bierfeldt of Youngstown. Also surviving are her brothers Larry Bacher, Gregory Bacher, Phillip Costello and sisters, Roz Oliver and Patra Bane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Bacher and Elizabeth Costello(Black).
Barbara wanted to be remembered as the woman she was, and no services will be held. Please take a moment to remember something dear about her and pass on your prayers and love to your loved ones.
