Barbara A Mcguirk

Barbara A. McGuirk (nee Russell), 75, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 with loved ones by her side. She was born December 16, 1938 in Cleveland and had been a Vermilion resident since 1950 moving from Fairview Park. Barbara had been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and AMVETS Post #22 Ladies Auxiliary. She had worked several jobs over the years, but was mostly a homemaker and mother. She had been a 4-H advisor and spent many years riding and showing horses with her children. She had such a love for animals having had almost any animal you can think of and never turned a stray away. Barbara had such a zest for life, always ready for anything. She enjoying gardening, dancing and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, James, even across country a couple of times. She had a heart of gold and was never too tired or too busy to help her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Jack) Manning of Vermilion, Tammy (Larry) McGee of Berlin Heights, Terri (Darrell) Saunders of Grafton, Sharon (Emery) Corbiere of Oberlin, Colleen (Mark) Loudy of Norwalk, and Kelly Clark of Vermilion; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Johnson, Sharon Kumpf, and Judith Herbert; brothers, Tim, Daniel, and James Russell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years who died on January 9, 2014, James McGuirk; parents, William Russell and Alice Haettich (nee Martin); sister, Maureen K. Russell, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 4:00 pm until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion OH. Reverend Mel Sayler will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 1 pm.
