Barbara Ann Wood

Barbara Ann Wood (nee Lewis), 84, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016. She was born January 9, 1932 in Youngstown. After her marriage to the late Warren Wood, Barbara moved to Lakewood, Ohio and then to Vermilion Ohio. Barbara began her career in administration with the City of Vermilion Mayor's office, continuing her career as a secretary at Bettcher Industries. After retirement she worked for the Vermilion Family YMCA in the daycare. She was a member of the Vermilion Boat Club. She enjoyed going to the Library, reading, and traveling Europe with her late husband. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (David) Strick of Vermilion; sons, Scott (Margaret) Wood of Lorain and Mark Wood of Vermilion; grandsons, Tyler Eavenson, Brian Strick, Keith (Julie)Wood, Craig (Dena) Wood, Nicholas Wood; granddaughters, Sally Wood and Lauren Wood; and great granddaughter, Addison Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Warren Leighton Wood in 2008; parents, Clifford and Dorothy (nee Humason) Lewis; and her brother, Gordon Lewis. Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
