Barry Frederick Jones

Barry Frederick Jones, 66, of Sand Fork, West Virginia died Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Vermilion after a one year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born July 23, 1944 in Rahway, NJ, he had been a Sand Fork resident for the past 4 years moving from Vermilion. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Barry worked for Korden's Car Wash and was a material handler for Prepared Foods, Sandusky, Sandusky Plastics, and Lithonia Lighting, Vermilion. He attended the Sand Fork Baptist Church and Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion. Barry was a member of the National Rifle Association, and was a life member of AMVETS Post 22. He enjoyed darts, fishing, hunting, trapping, and boating. He loved the lake, ocean, and especially his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Mary (nee Jones) Jones; 2 sons, Cristopher (Katie) Jones and Brian Jones both of Vermilion; daughter, Elizabeth (Brandon) Jones Rodriguez; step daughter, Merissa O'Donnell, both of Vermilion, 9 grandchildren; sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Banks of Mammoth Junction, NJ and brother, John "Jack" Jones of Florida. . He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Alice (nee Bartz) Jones. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089. Following the mass, friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of a memorial service at 11:30 am at Harbourtown Community Church, 873 State Street, Vermilion.
