Bennie Camden Rowan

Bennie Camden Rowan Sr., 79, of Parma (formerly of Philippi, WV), was called home to be with The Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Bennie was born on April 11, 1940 in Sutton, WV but was a Cleveland-area resident for more than 50 years. He served his country in the Merchant Marines before dedicating his life to serving Christ as a minister and evangelist of The Gospel. Ben traveled everywhere, that he was given an opportunity to preach The Word of God, to include his connection to Life Out Reach Ministries. His faithfulness will, forever, be remembered. When Rev. Rowan wasn't ministering, he was diligently reading and studying the Bible. He had an extensive and in-depth understanding of Holy Scripture. He was a man of great faith and would, often times, be found praying and talking to Our Heavenly Father. His last moments on earth were spent ministering to all who visited his bedside. Those unforgettable moments were peppered with great worship, prayer, blessings, laughter, and even joy as Bennie continued to help lead everyone that he could to Salvation and Redemption. Bennie leaves behind a remarkable legacy of teaching Truth and standing in faith. He, boldly, faced physical death knowing that he was heading into The Kingdom of Heaven to meet Our Creator and The Son of Man. He is survived by his daughter, Rachelle (Gerry Dewess) Rowan of Parma; sons, John Rowan of Westlake, James Rowan of WV, and David Rowan of WV; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; brothers, Hershel Sr., Everett, Irvin, Cary, and Roy; and his sisters, Ada Tingler, Ruby Rowan, and Nancy Glover. Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Idabelle (nee Barker) Rowan in 1988; parents, Griffin and Goldie Ruth (nee Snyder) Rowan; son, Bennie Rowan Jr.; brothers: Rupert Rowan, Jerry Rowan, Ottis Rowan, and Hubert Rowan; and his daughters-in-laws, Terry Rowan, Evelyn Rowan, and Michelle Laney. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4-8 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. John Simmons, Bennie's grandson-in-law of Leon, WV, will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. A Celebration of Life Reception will immediately follow the burial service on Wednesday at Church on the North-Coast (CNC), 588 Avon Beldon Road, Avon, Ohio.
