Bernadette Wilsey

Bernadette Wilsey (nee Belitz), 83, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

Born on September 27, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, Bernadette had called Vermilion her home for the past 56 years after relocating from her home state. She was known for her love of reading and her talent for knitting, but nothing brought her more joy than the time she spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Bernadette is survived by her sons, Michael Wilsey of Aviano, Italy and Glenni "J.R." S. Wilsey of Knoxville, TN; her daughters, Traci Wilsey of Omaha, NE and Glenda (Michael) Lembicz of Brunswick, OH; her stepdaughters, Nichole Greig and Tonya Cooper, both of Canton; as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Glenni S. Wilsey III, who passed in 2014, her daughter, Kimbralee Wilsey; granddaughter, Erin Bernadette Lembicz, her grandson, Glenni Wilsey V, her parents, Henry and Therese Belitz, her sister, Therese Limpp, and her brothers,Henry and Leonard Belitz.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
