Bertha Elizabeth Lewis

Bertha Elizabeth Lewis (nee Wall), 89 of Vermilion, went home to be with her Savior, Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the home of her daughter. She was born March 30, 1919 in Lawrence Co., OH and has been a Vermilion resident since 1987 moving from Elyria. She had worked at General Industries for 19 years. Bertha is a member of the Church Of The Open Door, Elyria. She was a professional seamstress and enjoyed making clothes and crocheting. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy "Dotty" Lewis of Vermilion; son and daughter-in-law, William Dale and Marlene Lewis of Vermilion; 2 grandchildren, David and Eric Lewis; and 4 great-grandchildren: Michaela, Khourtney, Bailey, and Evan. Preceding her in death were her husband William Lewis in 1987, and parents, John Hardy and Martha Earles (nee Wall), and her grandparents who raised her, Sarah and Ransom Wall. Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio with Rev. Cliff Morris, pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church, officiating. Internment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
