Berthabelle M. Wlodarsky-Duchene (nee Moats), 88, of Vermilion, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at her granddaughters home after a lengthy illness. Born February 25, 1922 in Berlin Heights, OH she had been a Vermilion resident for the past 30 years moving from Berlin Heights. She graduated from Berlin Heights High school in 1939 and had worked at her family's cottages, cabins, and motel business. She later worked with her and her husband Ed, on their fruit farm, Wlodarsky Fruit Farm. She enjoyed leather work, boating, traveling in her RV, wintering in Florida, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for horses and her Doberman Pinschers. Survivors include her sons, Larry (Sharon) Wlodarsky of Berlin Heights, Edward (Diane) Wlodarsky of Berlin Heights; 7 grandchildren: Wendy Wlodarsky, Dawn James, Walt Wlodarsky, Tiffany Lavine, Kim Maloney, Eric Wlodarsky, and Kelly Wlodarsky; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Wlodarsky; second husband, Richard Duchene; companion, James T. Miller; parents, Lloyd and Kathryn (nee Kishman) Moats; and a sister, Elizabeth Sprunk. Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery Berlin Heights. The family suggests memorial contributions to Stein Hospice 1200 Sycamore Line Sandusky, OH 44870.
