Betsy D. Dearth

Betsy D. Dearth (nee Keathley), 92 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Betsy was born February 12, 1920 in Lesterville, MO. She had been a Vermilion resident since 1989 after moving from Strongsville. . Betsy supported the war effort by working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton as a engineering aid for 4 years and worked in the accounting department for General American Life Insurance Co, St. Louis. She also worked as a librarian in New Lebanon, Ohio and Strongsville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Audubon Society. She enjoyed gardening, sports and bird watching. She is survived by her husband, Alvah Alexander Dearth of Vermilion; sons, Douglas (Dawn Hadaway) Dearth of Vermilion, and Roger Dearth of San Francisco; and sister, Nancy Mescher of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woot and Ema (nee Center) Keathley, sister, Rowena Baer and brother, Kenneth Keathley. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. The Reverend Mark Bogen will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
