Betty J. McCue (nee Corbett), 83 of Lorain, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain. She was born May 21, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan, grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Lorain in 1951. In 1945, she married Ralph H. McCue and together they raised a family of 3 sons and a daughter. Betty was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and active in the ministries of hospital visitation and bereavement. She was also an active participant in the Lorain Democratic Party. Betty was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed gardening in her rose garden. She is survived by her children, David R. (Patricia Ann) McCue of Lorain, George R. (Mary) McCue of Dublin, Ralph H. (Linda) McCue II of Lorain and Colleen (Joseph) DeMarco of Vermilion; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Ralph H. McCue in 1991, parents, Leo and Ruby (nee Talbot) Corbett, sister, Nettie Beechler, brothers, William and Rexford Corbett and grandson, Brandon Lee McCue. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2-6 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kingston of Vermilion, 4210 Telegraph Lane, Vermilion, Ohio 44089 or New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
