Betty Jean Reynolds ( Nee Wollenhaupt), 84 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain. She was born October 16, 1919 in Dayton and had lived in Vermilion since 1991. She worked as a Legal Secretary for Schearer & Mumpower,Attorney at Law. She was a member of American Business Women's Association, Dayton. She enjoyed cooking and watching her grandson play baseball. She volunteered for many years at the Hara Arena in Dayton for the Labor Day Jerry Lewis Telethon. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Yarbrough of Huron; step-son, Harold Reynolds of Eaton, OH; step-daughter, Vivian Kempen of Dayton; 1 grandson; 6 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, Bernice Wollenhaupt of Dayton. Preceding her in death were her parents, Rudolph and Cora (nee Kayler) Wollenhaupt; her husband, Harry Reynolds in 1962; son, Bruce A. Reynolds; sisters Gladys and Opal Wollenhaupt, and Charlotte Arden; brothers Roy, Robert, Charles and Edward Wollenhaupt. Friends may call Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Calling hours will also be held Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Chapel at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave. Dayton, Ohio, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Matthew Humphrey, Funeral Celebrant, will officiate.
