Betty Jane Strickler (nee Coultrip), 86, of Amherst, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Mercy Allen Memorial Hospital, Oberlin, after a lenthy illness. Betty was born March 14, 1927 in Vermilion Township and had been a lifelong area resident. Betty worked for Autumn Aegis Nursing home as a cook and also as a waitress for the Chatter Box Restaurant in Amherst. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling. She is survived by her son, Wayne Allen Strickler of Defiance; grandchildren, Kathryn Kinder, Mark Strickler, Michael Strickler and Kimberly Carder; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. and Elma Ellen (nee Willard) Coultrip; a sister, Ella Whiten and brothers, William and Bernard Coultrip. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 4-7p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Riddle Funeral Home. Reverend Dr. Karl Fry will officiate. Interment will be Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O.
