Billy E Allen Sr

Billy E Allen Sr., 86, of Vermilion, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Mercy New Life Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 15, 1939, in Logan, WV and had been a Vermilion resident for more than 60 years.

Billy worked as an Inspector for Ford Motor Co for over 30 years until his retirement in 1990.

He enjoyed gardening-especially tending to his fruit trees and vegetable plants-and found peace in the time he spent fishing.

He is survived by his son, Billy E (Lynn) Allen, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Wilhelm; grandchildren, Joshua, Laura and Cara, great grandchildren, Addison, Owen and Alexander; and his sister, Delores Sparks.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 yrs, Vivian Lee Allen; who passed away just ten days before him; his parents, Melvin and Gladys (nee Mills) Allen; siblings, Patricia, Martha, Mary "Boot", and Melvin Jr.; great grandson, Greyson; and his son in law, James Wilhelm.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11 until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Reverend Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
