Billy K Neal

Billy Kye Neal, 86, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully July 7, 2023.

He was born February 17, 1937 in Searcy, Arkansas.  He was the son of Oliver C. and Lorene C. (nee Fletcher) Neal.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Leon, James and Vicky.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie C. Neal (nee McDermott); children, Teresa (Doug) Nelson, Jeffrey Neal, Rhonda (Jim) Trumbo.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Aaron Routh, Adam (Carrie) Hylton, Zach (Samantha) Neal, Hilary (Tim) Hawk, Bethany Neal, Hannah Kloete, Matthew Kloete, Tim Kloete; 14 great-grandchildren; his brother, Phillip (Debra) Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

After 34 years at the Lorain Ford Plant, he retired in 1993.  After retirement, he continued to enjoy spending time with his family and grandchildren, gardening, camping and helping others.  He made many friends along the way.  He volunteered in his community.  He and his wife received the 2009 Individual Volunteer Award from the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce presented by the Ohio House of Representatives.  He served many years as a Trustee on the VOL Clubhouse Board while using his talents in woodworking to improve and enhance the clubhouse.  He also attended Harbourtown Community Church in Vermilion.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 2:00 until the time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m.  at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.  Pastor Heidi Strickler will officiate.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Billy's honor to a charity of the donors choosing.
