Blanche Mae Greenless

Blanche Mae Greenless "Grandma Greenless", age 89, of Lorain, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. Blanche was born May 22, 1925 in Maumee, OH. She had been a Lorain resident since 1954 moving from Marblehead, OH . 　 Blanche worked at New Departure and did babysitting. She enjoyed helping others cleaning homes, and ironing. She and her husband raised numerous (12-13) foster children. She volunteered for more than 25 years at the Meister Road School for Kay Klaykamp (where the kids called her "Grandma Greenless"), and R.S.V.P. in Elyria. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Elyria and an auxiliary member of V.F.W. # 451. She also enjoyed bingo and gambling. She is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Edward) Keller of Vermilion, Carolyn McKissick of Lorain, Charlene (Dennis) Daub of Lorain, foster daughter, Melissa Close of Lorain, sons, William (Sharon) Greenless of Lorain, Rodger (Penny) Greenless of Amherst; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband William Evans, 2nd husband Cecil Greenless, June 10, 2006, daughter Barbara Jean Evans, granddaughter Wendy Ann Ward, parents, Leonard E. and Elsie L. (nee Barber) Nason, brothers, Leland and Donald Nason, sister, Beatrice Christiansen. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13th from 3-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski- Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Majors Alice and Robert Sears will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
