Bob W. Roberts, 59, of Vermilion, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at University Hospital, Cleveland. He was born December 5, 1948 in Harlan, KY and lived most of his life in Vermilion and Lorain. He was a Viet Nam veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a supervisor at Lear Corporation, Huron and had also worked at TNT Logistics, Huron. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was past president of the Vermilion Lions Club, a member of AMVETS Post 22, Vermilion, the American Legion, Post 397 Vermilion, and the VFW Post 7576. He was active in the Vermilion Woolly Bear Festival and Festival of the Fish for more than 20 years. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Barbara (nee Redmond); mother, Mabel (nee Jones) Roberts of Avon Lake; daughters, Sarah Roberts of Sandusky, Melissa Roberts of Vermilion , Jessica Roberts, a student at BGSU; sister, Linda Vitai of Sheffield Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, February 18, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors at 7 p.m. followed by a service by The Vermilion Lions Club. Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Ave., Vermilion, Ohio Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. The Reverend Doctor Larry Houff will officiate.
