Borgia "Soup" W. Campbell, 78, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in Grace Hospital, Amherst, after a 9 week illness. He was born June 27, 1927 in Gallitzin, PA. He has been a Vermilion resident for the 26 years after moving from Solon. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He retired after 37 years as Manager of Operations for Republic Steel Pellet Terminal in Lorain. He was a member of the China Marines, and enjoyed golf and basketball. Survivors include his wife, Delores "Dee" Edwards (nee Dalton), 3 daughters, Colleen Campbell of Vermilion; Mary Brownell of Maumee, and Nancy Golinski of North Ridgeville; 5 sons, Daniel Campbell of Huber Heights, James Campbell of Vermilion, Thomas Campbell of Sandusky, William Campbell of West Mifflin, PA and Kevin Campbell of Vermilion; 8 grandchildren; 1 step daughter Caroline Cooksey of Amherst; 4 step sons, Mark Edwards of Lorain, Matthew Edwards of Chandler, TX, John Edwards of Vermilion, Eugene Edwards, Jr. of Amherst; 9 step grandchildren; 1 brother, Raymond Campbell of Berea; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Meintel of Ebensburg, PA, Geraldine Buck of Gallitzin, PA, Dolores Kacsur of Somerset, PA, and Margaret Noland of Berea, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Campbell on December 24, 1997 and his parents Gerald and Margaret (nee Duffy) Campbell. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 4 until the time of the service at 8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, with the Reverend Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Amherst.
