Brad Michael Mayer, 33, of Wakeman, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 as a result of a motorcycle accident at the merger of Rts 271 and 480 in Cleveland. Born January 20, 1977 in Oberlin, he had been a Wakeman resident most of his life. He graduated from Firelands High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Brad worked as a carpenter for the Carpenters Union at Marous Brothers in Willoughby. He was a member of the Kipton Community Church, enjoyed snowmobiling, baseball, hunting, fishing, car and motorcycle racing. His parents said he was their hero, and he loved his children and enjoyed his time with them. Survivors include his parents, Loren and Marilyn (nee Reardon) Mayer, Wakeman; children, Mallory and Logan; sisters, Danielle (Ben) Goforth, Fayetteville, NC and Marissa Mayer, Wellington; 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Elizabeth Reardon and paternal grandparents, Pete and Mary Mayer Friends may call Friday July 2, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. The Reverend Lee Stull will officiate.
