Brian K. Roig, 56, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Born on March 6, 1968, in Amherst, Ohio, Brian was a lifelong resident of Lorain. For the past three years, he worked in the kitchen at Salvatore's restaurant in Vermilion, and he had previously been employed at various other restaurants, including Wood and Wine.
A true sports enthusiast, Brian actively participated in numerous sports during his youth and continued to enjoy competitive activities such as darts, bowling, cornhole, and softball throughout his adult life. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and also cheered for the Browns whenever the Steelers were not playing.
Brian is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Alexis) Post of Oklahoma and Sindel (Drew) Williams of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Skyla; his mother, Linda (Claude) Collins of Vermilion; his brother, Michael (Renee) Roig of North Ridgeville; his step-brother, Jamie (Linda) Collins of North Ridgeville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George R. Roig; his paternal grandparents, Russell and Dorothy Roig; his maternal grandparents, Bud and Shirley Decker; and his Uncle Ward Burns.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1 pm at the Church of the Open Door, 1230 Beechview Dr, Vermilion, Oh 44089.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
