Bryan Eric Brooks, 63, of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Mercy New Life Hospice on Saturday, October 26, 2024, after a brave and determined battle with cancer. Born on September 8, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, Bryan grew up in the sunshine of the West Coast before eventually settling in Wakeman, where he made his home for the past 19 years after moving from Santa Barbara.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bryan spent many years as a firefighter, putting his heart into serving and protecting his community. Later, he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own businesses-Action Moving and Delivery, where he helped families and businesses with their relocations, and Scrubs, a mobile detailing company that brought his meticulous nature and attention to detail to vehicles across the area.
Bryan had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, finding joy in keeping his yard well-maintained and beautiful. He also had a lifelong passion for music, particularly playing the drums. His talent took him to local venues, where he played in bands and shared his love of music with the community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Deborah (nee Shortt) Brooks, who stood by his side throughout his illness; his son, Preston Evans of Arizona; his stepson, Ronnie Lenk of North Carolina; and two cherished grandchildren, Ronin and Zane Evans. He also leaves behind his brothers, Kevin Brooks of Florida and Mark Brooks of California.
Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Linda (nee Gabriel) Brooks and father, Albert E. Brooks.
Honoring Bryan’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and condolences online at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
Bryan's legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the music he played, and the kindness he showed to others.
