Carleen Ann Wohlever (nee Majjasie), 53, of Las Vegas, NV, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, from sudden cardiac arrest. She was born March 5, 1961 in Lorain, Ohio. As an Air Force spouse, Carleen had lived in many different locations such as Denver, CO; Plattsburgh, NY; Suffolk, England; Geneva, OH and Las Vegas. The latter of which she had called home for the past 16 years. Carleen was employed for 15 years by Opportunity Village/Great Plains Enterprises as a special needs supervisor. Carleen was a lover of animals and cherished her pets that included numerous dogs including Keisha, Max, Jake, Slider, Cooper, Peanut, and Kodie. She was also dedicated to her Roman Catholic faith and was sympathetic, resourceful and selfless. Carleen enjoyed vacations and traveling, especially when they weren't planned. She enjoyed arts and crafts, watching and participating in sports (especially when her kids were involved), and being a creative parent. She is survived by her mother Carole (nee Kapron) of Lorain; daughter, Jackie (Kevin) Stoner of Las Vegas, NV; son, T.J. of South Bend, IN; granddaughter, Savannah of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lynne of Lorain, Krissi of Lorain, and Cherie of Amherst; brother, Jerry of Amherst; and 17 nieces and nephews. Carleen was preceded in death by her father, Gerald T. Majjasie. A Celebration of Carleen's life will be held on Sunday, August 24, from 5-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Prayers will be held at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. Father Bob Glepko will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a memorial account in Carleen's name.
