Carol J. Bennett

Carol J. Farch- Bennett (nee Gehl), age 79, of Vermilion passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain after a short illness. She was born December 16, 1932 in Elyria, OH, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 39 years. Carol was a secretary with the Vermilion Schools retiring in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she also volunteered as church secretary. She also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Grace's Kitchen, and Faith, Hope, & Charity Stitches, Inc. Carol enjoyed cross-stitch, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Charles (Brandi) Farch of Dallas, TX, Cynthia Farch of Avon Lake, Nancy (Kurt) Oates of Vermilion, and Richard (Anna) Farch of Dallas, TX; step-son Craig (Cathy) Bennett of Vermilion; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Shirley) Gehl of Arkansas; sister Marilynn Rossi of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Luella (Wilcoxson) Gehl; first husband Daniel C. Farch in 1971; second husband Earl C. Bennett in 1994; brother Gerald Gehl in 1996. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26th from 4-8 P.M. at Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St., Vermilion. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
