It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Faye Cody (nee Bragg) announce her passing. Carol, 74, died on Friday, December 11, 2020 at UH Elyria Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born March 12, 1946 in Edmond, West Virginia and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 56 years moving from Lorain. Carol was a member of Trinity Gospel Church in Vermilion and was a route chairperson for Brownhelm Community Christmas. She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted grandmother and was always there to care for her grandchildren throughout her life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the joy of her life. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Ira) McGinnis of Lorain, Amanda (Martin) Ives of Camden Twp, Jami (Joe) Sexton of Vermilion, Jennifer Cody of Vermilion, and Sara Cody of Vermilion, 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers, James, Charles, Robert, and David; and sisters, Barbara McKnight and Mary Damron. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Cody in 2017; parents, Frederick and Gladys (nee Day) Bragg; and her sister, Macel Barker. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 12:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rugby Cemetery, Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions to Brownhelm Community Christmas, 7015 Baumhart Rd., Amherst, OH 44001.
