Carol Kurowski (nee Herman), 83 of Lorain, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born September 25, 1922 in Lorain were she has been a lifelong resident. She worked for the Lorain County Clerk of Courts in Elyria, retiring after 22 years. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lorain and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was very active in politics, serving as campaign manager to several area political candidates and had also served as past president of the Democratic Woman's Club. She was a past member of the PLAV Traveling Drill Team and enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Henry Kurowski, sons, Don Kurowski of Lorain and Robert Kurowski of Carlisle Twp.; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews . Preceding her in death were her parents, Rheinhart and Minnie Herman, brother, Lowell Herman and sisters, Arvella McCoy and Phyllis Megyesy. Friends may call Sunday April 9, 2006 from 4-8 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. The St. John Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 4:30 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday April 10, 2006 at 10:30am followed by an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at the St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr., Lorain. The Reverend Thomas Smith, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
