Carolin M Fink

May 7, 1950 — January 6, 2025

Carolin M. Fink (née Pavlica), age 74, of Vermilion, Ohio passed away on January 6, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born on May 7, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, Carolin became a resident of Vermilion, Ohio in 2013 after living in Brecksville for 29 years. She attended Saints Philip and James grade school and West Technical high school on Cleveland’s west side and finished with an Associate Degree in Business from Cuyahoga Community College. Carolin began her career in the import and export industry, working at the A.W. Fenton Co. (later Excel Logistics) from 1973 until 2003. She then chose to dedicate herself fully to raising her family and being a caregiver for her Mother-in-Law and Mother. Additionally, she earned her real estate license and worked part-time as a real estate agent helping families find their dream homes. A woman of deep faith, Carolin was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption in Broadview Heights and enjoyed attending services at various Catholic churches, her favorite being the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Bellevue, Ohio. One of her beloved pastimes was bringing family and friends together for different occasions and celebrations, typically including a meal, and she took pride in planning every event over the years down to the smallest detail so that it would be special to all in attendance. She loved to travel, domestically and internationally, but her favorite past-times were spending summers relaxing and exploring northern Michigan and skiing out West. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Carolin is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Kevin Thomas Fink of Vermilion, Ohio; her children, Kevin Henry (Amber) Fink of San Clemente, CA, Jason John (Christine) Fink of Scottsdale, AZ, and Jennifer Jane (Mark) Craine of San Clemente, CA; her cherished grandchildren, Amelia, Jack, Audrey, Siena, Henrik, and Nohl; sisters, Flora (Craig) Barry of Cleveland and Susan Pawlak of Parma, and her brothers, Thomas (Karen) Pavlica of Broadview Heights and Ronald Pavlica of Milford, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie (née Marzola) Pavlica, and her brother, John Pavlica.

A mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 9183 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147 with a celebration of life to follow. There will be no wake or viewing prior to the mass.  Private inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark, Ohio.

She always found joy, hope and comfort in her faith. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, In Memory of  Carolin M. Fink (https://sorrowfulmothershrine.org/donate/).
