Caroline Bukowski

Caroline E. Bukowski (née Pfeiffer), 82, of Grafton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Ames Family Hospice Facility following a brief illness.

She was born March 25, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, and most recently resided in Grafton for the past four years, having moved from Harborcreek, Pennsylvania.

Caroline was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Dean Jr. College in Franklin, Massachusetts, where she earned her Associate of Science degree.

Caroline had a deep love for animals, especially her purebred AKC German Shepherds, which she bred and proudly showed at dog competitions. She also found great joy in gardening, where her “green thumb” brought beauty and life to everything she touched. In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling alongside her beloved husband.

She is survived by her loving son, Scott Bukowski of Grafton, OH; her daughter, Christine (Chris) Hails of Bellefonte, PA; her grandson, Anthony (Carrie) Bukowski of Dayton, OH; and her treasured great-grandchildren, William, Tessa, Jenna, and Jack Bukowski.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Anthony “Tony” Bukowski; her parents, Herman and Elisabeth (née Hoess) Pfeiffer; and her brother, Herman Pfeiffer, Jr.

Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1 pm at Erie County Memorial Gardens, 7880 Edinboro Road, Erie, PA 16509.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a veterans organization of the donor’s choice, in honor of Caroline’s service and patriotism.
