Cecil A. Greenless, age 82 of Lorain, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a short illness. He was born on May 20, 1924 in Cheboygan, Michigan where he lived until moving to Lorain in 1954. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving from 1942 - 1955. He worked as a quality control inspector for the Ford Motor Company in Lorain for over 28 years, retiring in 1987. He had also worked in the construction business. In addition to their own family, he and his wife raised numerous foster children. He volunteered for the Lorain Food Bank and was a donor for the Blood bank. He was a member of the VFW post #451 in Lorain. He is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Blanche (nee Nason) Greenless; daughters, Bonnie Keller of Lorain, Carolyn McKissick of Elyria and Charlene Daub of Lorain; foster daughter, Melissa Close of Lorain; sons, William Greenless of Lorain and Rodger Greenless of Amherst; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Greenless of Vermilion and Darrell Greenless of Colorado. He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Arthur E. and Viola B. (nee Wilcox) Greenless. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 2-4 / 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio, and again on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 10:00 am unitl the time of service at 11:00 am. The Reverend Terry Parker, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermilion, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
