Charles “Bill” Kishman Jr., 77, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Scenic Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born January 12, 1948, in Norwalk, Ohio, and spent the majority of his life in Vermilion before relocating to Wilkesville, Ohio in 2014.
Bill was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving his country from 1967-1973 as a carpentry specialist, being stationed in Thailand from 1968 to 1969. Following his military service, he joined the family business, Kishman Builders, where he worked as a skilled mason until 1993. He later worked with Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain from 1993 to 2005, and then with Vista Systems in Huron until his retirement in 2010.
Bill served two terms as a Vermilion Township Trustee and was previously President and Treasurer of the Vermilion Fish and Game. He was a life member of the NRA and an active member of AMVETS Post 22, VFW Post 7576, and American Legion Post 397. An avid outdoorsman, Bill found great joy in spending time outside, especially hunting. He treasured the memories made on hunting trips and at races with his grandson, Matthew, his nephew, Kenny, and his many hunting companions-moments that brought him great happiness throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Annalee (David) Gray; grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlin McQueen; his former wife, Susan Kishman, with whom he remained close; his brother, Kenneth Kishman;sister, Gayle Campbell; and his beloved Mule, Dusty, who now lives in New Concord, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joyce (née Brothers) Kishman.
In honoring Bill’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
