Charles A. "Chuck" Prieur , 91, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Ohio Veteran's Home, Sandusky. Chuck was born June 18, 1921 in Bowling Green, OH, and lived most of his life in Vermilion. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Charles was a self employed refrigeration mechanic and owned and operated of Prieur Appliance in Vermilion. He also worked for A & P Grocery and retired from St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22 and the American Legion Post 397, Vermilion He and his wife were members of the 8 Ball Dance Club and enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and spending their winters in Bradenton, FL. He is survived by his son, David (Carol) Prieur of Elgin, ILL; daughters, Patricia McGuire of Wakeman and Suzanne (Randall) Krichbaum of Vermilion; grandchildren, Matthew and Kathryn Prieur, Howard and Angela McGuire, Amanda Rzicznek and Justin and Randall Krichbaum; and great grandchildren, Chloe and Monet Prieur and Riley Krichbaum. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Prieur (nee Johnson) Oct. 21, 2005 and his parents, Arthur and Lina (nee McKnight) Prieur. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. The Reverend Jim Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
