Charlotte A. Fandrich (née Shook), 93, of Vermilion, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Kingston of Vermilion following a brief illness.
Born on May 24, 1931, in Holloway, OH, Charlotte moved to Lorain before settling in Vermilion, where she had lived for the past 76 years.
Charlotte took great pride in her role as a farmer’s wife and devoted mother. She was an active member of the Vermilion E&R Church, where she taught Sunday School, served on the board, and assisted with custodial duties. A talented seamstress, she also enjoyed quilting, canning, baking, and exploring historical sites.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Neal) Nuwash of Austin, TX, and Cindy Brown of Vermilion; grandchildren, Michael McCourt, Daniel and Jason Fandrich, and Laurence and Daniel Nuwash; great-grandchildren, Marcus McCourt, Nichole Crase, Lillian Fandrich, and Benjamin Nuwash; as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Fandrich; parents, Charles and Bernice (née Cropp) Shook; son, David John Fandrich; granddaughter, Julie Ann McCourt; sister, Elizabeth LaMarche and son-in-law, William Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Vermilion E&R Church, located at Ohio and Grand Streets in Vermilion. A private interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery prior to the service.
