Chestine 'Jessie' Petrosky

Chestine "Jessie" Petrosky (nee Stankiewicz), age 93, of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Center, Akron. Chestine was born January 19, 1922 in Cleveland, and had been a Lorain resident for 50 years before moving to Akron in 2006. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society, and the Padua Travelers Social Group, St. Joseph Young Seniors, and St Peter Senior Citizens. Chestine is survived by her son Ronald (Sylvia) Petrosky of Akron; grandchildren Alyssa and Natalie Perosky. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Petrosky in 1993, daughter Sandra Petrosky in 2006, parents Adam and Anna (nee Galka) Stankiewicz, sisters Sophie Jasiekiewicz, and Sally Zubie, and Helen Stankiewicz, brothers Frank and Walter Stankiewicz, and John Stang. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19th from 5 to 7 p.m at Dombrowski -Riddle Funeral Home 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St. Lorain. Reverend Fr. Robert Glepko will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
