Chris Allan Dickerhoff, 60, of Brook Park, died Monday, September 11, 2023 surrounded by his family in Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 12, 1963 in Lorain, OH and had been a Brook Park resident for the past 7 years. Prior to moving to Brook Park, Chris lived in North Olmstead and grew up in Vermilion.
Chris was a Master Sergeant with the US Air Force and served as a weapons loader. He also spent 18 years with the 180th Tactical Fighter Wing, National Guard.
Chris worked as a manager and server for various restaurants including The Berea Depot.
He was a past member of the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational. Chris had his private pilots license and enjoyed flying, collecting model airplanes and watching sports.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce (nee Jones) Dickerhoff of Vermilion; brother, Scott (Kristin) Dickerhoff of Amherst; sister, Lisa Nail Whitt of Vermilion; best friend, Diana Jones of Brook Park; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Paul Dickerhoff; paternal grandparents, Ellsworth and Mabel Dickerhoff and maternal grandparents, Tom and Minnie Jones.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 3:00 pm until the time of a memorial service at 4:00 pm at the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Rt. 60, Vermilion, OH 44089, with Military Honors following the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a local Veterans organization of your choice.
