Chris Feldkamp

Christine "Chris" T. Feldkamp (nee Gessner), 75, formerly of Vermilion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Promedica Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH after a brief illness. She was born April 16, 1945 in La Junta, CO and had been a Vermilion resident for 47 years , moving to Perrysburg in 2019. Chris was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie, dancing, playing cards and Bunco with friends, cooking and baking, flower gardening, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Lawrence Feldkamp of Perrysburg, OH; daughter, Dawn (Patrick) Chappuies of Blissfield, MI; son, Michael (Laura) Feldkamp of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Claire, Paige, and Wade; brothers, Fred (Gail) Gessner of Amherst and Chuck (Judy) Gessner of Hoggenville, KY; sister, Diane Valerius of Vermilion, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emily (nee Romero) Gessner and her brother-in-law, Ed Valerius. Friends and family are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 from 12 Noon until 2:00  p.m. for a drive-thru visitation and from 4-6 p.m. for a traditional visitation at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Dec. 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. The Mass will be live streamed at https://stmaryvermilion.org/mass-live-stream. Private interment will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
