Christine A. Lane

Christine A. Lane (nee Sosinski), 81, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at her home following a sudden illness.

She was born April 8, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 14 years after moving from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Christine dedicated 35 years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She retired in 2010 from the Albuquerque City Clinic.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister.  She was also involved with the Mildred Early Center Active Adults. Christine enjoyed reading and the arts, especially painting and making jewelry. She also found great pleasure in landscaping and gardening, and loved spending time at the beach or relaxing while floating in the pool. She also enjoyed volunteering with Shore Thing at Main Street Beach.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Lane of Vermilion; daughters, Bonnie (Henry) Wheley of Madison, FL, and Jean (Walt) Mayer of Hampshire, IL; son, Keith (Lisa) Riedl of Elgin, IL; grandchildren, Mitch, Marie, Lizzy, Val, Gunnar, Stella, and Will; great grandson, Wyatt; brothers, Mike Sosinski, Daniel Sosinski and Bill Sosinski; sisters, Rose Magness, Beth Podkowirow, Jean Doyle, Elaine Brya, and Carol Bitto; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Marie (nee Bonacci) Sosinski, brother, Leonard "Sonny" Sosinski, and her sister, Mary Fuller.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
