Clara Mae Anderson (nee Thornton), 84 of Goshen, KY died Tuesday July 4,2017 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born March 14, 1933 in Dunn, NC and had been a Goshen, KY resident since 1998, moving from Vermilion, OH where she had resided for 38 years. Clara worked as the manager for South Shore Shopping Center and Southbay Town Homes in Vermilion for 20 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, travel, was an avid poker player and spending time with her family. Clara is survived by her sons Emory (Madelyn) "Andy" Blaine Anderson Jr. of Louisville, KY, David (Lisa) Lee Anderson of Liberty, MO and James Turner Anderson of West Seneca, NY; daughters Carlene Renee Anderson of Goshen, KY, Claudia (Gary) Schultz of Vermilion, OH, and Smyra Kaye Sanders of Goshen, KY, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emory Blaine "Buddy" Anderson Sr. in 1992; parents James and Katie (Bryant) Thornton; and her brothers Charles Ray, Carl Edward and James Melvin Thornton. Graveside service will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Rev. Russ Nelson will officiate.
