Clara S. Petro

Clara S. Petro (nee DeSilvester), 85 of Lorain, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. She was born June 10, 1923 in Lorain where she has been a life long resident. Mrs. Petro was a 1941 graduate of Lorain High School. She was a life long member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Lorain and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Petro of Lorain, and Kristine (Mark) Arnold of Manassas, VA: brother, Anthony (Violet) DeSilvester of Lorain, sisters: Mrs. Josephine Dellisanti of Lorain, Mrs. Anne (Rudy) Cirell of Lorain, and Ginette DeSilvester of Elyria and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Salvator L. Petro in 2005, parents, George and Angelina (nee Verroccio) DeSilvester, sister, Mary Jane Berens and a brother in infancy Antonio DeSilvester. Friends may call Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 2-6 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at 9:30 am followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at the Catholic Church of St. Peter 3501 Oberlin Ave. Lorain, OH 44053, with Fr. Charles Henkle officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions may be made to the Church of St. Peter School Endowment Fund, 3501 Oberlin Ave. Lorain, OH 44053 .
