Clarence F. "Butch" Campbell, 84, of Vermilion, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 29, 1938 in Lorain and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 71 years moving from Lorain.
Butch graduated from Vermilion High School with the class of 1958. He worked for Ford Motor Co., Sandusky for 30 years retiring in 1998 as a Stock Handler. He had also worked for Fulper's Auto Parts and as a custodian for Vermilion Schools.
He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and the UAW #425. Butch enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, watching the Browns, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy (nee Lengyel) Campbell of Vermilion; sons, Jeffery (Kelly) Campbell of Berlin Heights and Kevin Campbell of Vermilion; grandchildren, Sarah, Lacey, and Kaitlin; sister, Evelyn (Robert) Novak of Port Richey, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Evelyn (nee Luman) Campbell; brothers, John H. and Benjamin Campbell; and his sisters, Ella Smith and Mary Absher.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
