Clarence "David" Feldkamp, 77, of Vermilion, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion after a lengthy illness. David was born August 18, 1934 in Lorain, OH, and had been a life long Vermilion area resident. He worked in the Maintenance Department for St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain for 15 years, retiring in 1989. He had also worked for National Cash Register and Lake Erie Lanes. David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He loved antiquing and could repair anything. He enjoyed finance and watching the stock market. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlene (nee Calvert) Feldkamp of Amherst; son, Peter (Janet) Feldkamp of Grove City; daughters, Tara (Todd) Schenkenberger of Sylvania; and Sara (Michael) Dowdell of Wellington; grandchildren, Matthew & Patrick Feldkamp, Olivia & Cameron Schenkenberger, and Josh, Nick, Michael, and William Dowdell; sister, Alice Cleaver of Vermilion; and brothers, Richard Feldkamp of Wellington and Fred Tomski of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Joseph and Beryl Elizabeth (nee Schafer) Feldkamp and granddaughter, Rachael Ann Feldkamp. The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 12:30 pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. Private Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mill Manor Activity Fund, 983 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
