Clarence F. "Casey Grote

Clarence F. "Casey" Grote,77, of Vermilion, died Friday, May 13, 2005 in the Inn at Chappel Creek, Vermilion after a lenghty illness. He was born May 15, 1927 in Vermilion and had been a life long resident. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He worked at Wakefield Brass and Lilthonia Lighting in Vermilion retiring in 1992 after 44 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting . Survivors include his sons, Mike Grote of Huron, Bill Grote of New London, and Don Grote of Vermilion; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Reising of Vermilion. Preceding him in death were his wife of 54 years, Eva Grote, 2003; parents, William and Florence (nee Wittmer) Grote; 4 brothers, Raymond, Gilbert, Charles, and George; 2 half brothers, Ed Sennhenn, James Sennhenn; sister, Anna Mae Grote and half sister, Mary Ficzo. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Reverend Brian Briggs will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Back to the Wild, P.O.
