Claudia Eva Tomaszewski-Jaworski

Claudia Eva Tomaszewski-Jaworski (nee Wlodarski), 102, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born December 22, 1913 in Lorain and grew up in Berlin Heights. Claudia graduated from Vermilion High School and lived in Lorain until moving in with her son for 14 years. She then moved back to Vermilion 4 years ago. Claudia worked for Central Bakery, Lorain, Kaise's Bakery, and retired from Nichol's Bakery, Lorain as a shipping clerk. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion where she was raised and got married. She had been a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain where she had been active with the Altar and Rosary Society. Claudia enjoyed gardening, cooking, roses, and crocheting. She is survived by her son, Thomas "Corky" (Deanna) Tomaszewski of Wakeman; daughter in law, Hallie Mappus of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Tami Mappus, Jay (Anna) Mappus, Deborah Marquardt, and Richard (Lori) Tomaszewski; great grandchildren, Erica, Allison, Stephanie, Brendan, and Ian; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Constantine Tomaszewski in 1986; second husband, Frank Jaworski in 1996; son, Richard Tomaszewski in 1959; parents, Stanley and Helen (Kowalski) Wlodarski; brothers, Chester, Walter, Edward and Frank Wlodarski; and sisters, Stephanie Anderson and Dorothy Buckner. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at 10 am followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH.
